As an RGN I travel to different care home settings for the agency to cover ad hoc shifts. My duties are like those of in-house nurses; you must be very proactive and ready to work in any setting that you are assigned to. Agency nurses are to assess patients, get familiar with the service user/resident very quickly, and be efficient and time-manageable, since those service users/residents are not familiar with you. Therefore, your efficiency should come into action quickly in terms of time management and the ability to do quick assessments. We are responsible for the well-being of everybody who is placed under our care, swift actions are always required to make sure that the ward or the care home runs efficiently and that the environment is safe for all in the building, especially as a lone worker at night or on weekends. Always make sure that medications are administered safely and surely according to the NMC rules and regulations and NICE guidelines. You may also be required to collaborate with other multidisciplinary teams to provide the best care outcome for the patients. You must be able to maintain good record-keeping of the daily activities so you can report to your GP or other healthcare providers about the person that is placed under your care.

As a staff nurse, I am responsible for the smooth running of the floor in accordance with the home's policies. Maintain the safety of the residents, administer medications, do assessments and evaluations, and write and update care plans. Liaise with the GP to do reviews on residents' well-being or ill health. Liaise with other multidisciplinary teams to provide the best health outcomes for the residents. Keep next of kin or relatives informed about the well-being of the residents.

As a staff nurse, I am involved in planning, assessing, implementing, and evaluating the care given to residents in the home. I was the nurse in charge when on duty. Ensuring good quality care is given to residents and maintaining their dignity according to the residents’ choices and individuality. Providing care for the terminally ill residents as well as performing last offices. As a nurse on duty, I am responsible for the well-being of the residents placed under my care, and I am competent in specific nursing skills that are expected of me such as medication administration, record keeping, wound care, infection control, making sure that residents are properly hydrated and have a sufficient diet, good quality of care and implementing safety measures to make sure that residents are safe in their environment in the home. I also help induce and supervise colleagues and junior staff members in all aspects of their roles in the home. My duties also involve writing an individualized care plan for the residents according to their needs.

Vaccination nurse administering COVID and seasonal flu jabs to residents in and around the Abingdon area 3 days a week. Duties included: Set up the station and make sure all the vaccines were available and on time. Meet and greet the clients. Explained to clients about the jab they were about to be administered. Administer the jab using the aseptic method. Give instructions for after the jab, what they may experience, and what to do. Documenting electronically in each client’s profile what they were administered. Adherence to infection control between each client. Safe handling and disposal of clinical waste. At the end of the day, clean the station.

Bank nurses provide primary care to detainees such as dispensing medications, conducting clinical assessments, treatment of minor injuries and chronic diseases. identifying and implementing appropriate interventions, collecting forensic samples, offering support and guidance where their general well-being is concerned, and providing unscheduled emergency responses to physical health crises. Also acted as an Emergency response nurse when a crisis arose in the prison: such as self-harm and suicide attempts, providing physical and mental care as well as liaising with another multidisciplinary team to provide the best care for the detainees.

Registered Manager leading a team of 36 carers to provide care for people in their own homes. Day-to-day running includes assessing clients in their homes to see if we can provide a standard of care for them, and make sure that their care plans are up to a good standard and fit their needs according to CQC standards and regulations. Assist and support the care 4 team in whatever they need on the field or in their working lives, doing carers’ probations and appraisals, return to work interviews, and see if they are fit for returning to work. Handle client’s complaints regarding their care make sure that all complaints are dealt with as soon as it is possible and give feedback to the clients. Liaise with GPs, District nurses, and another multi-disciplinary team to make sure that the clients will receive the appropriate care. Assist with recruitment of new carers, make sure that they are up to date with their training and compliant before they start doing calls to clients. Monthly matrix reports to the Managing Director about the number of carers available to cover all areas around the town, the number of service users that the company is handling on a daily or weekly basis as well as those who are on the waiting list for service to start. Assist with our weekly wrap-up or catch-up meeting. I have also been doing some training for carers, such as support compression hosiery, and Peristeen training as well as advising carers if there are any new developments regarding the client’s well-being.

RGN position in a 30-bed dementia, respite, and palliative care home. My duties include medication administration, person-centred approach, peg feeding, tracheostomy care, wound care, end-of-life care, and liaise with multidisciplinary teams to provide the best care needed for residents at the home. Medication ordering from the pharmacy, assisting visiting doctors when visiting residents and carrying forward their recommendations, managing

RGN in a 48-bed nursing home taking care of Dementia, Palliative care, respite care, as well as complex case residents. Duties included administration of medicine, good clinical assessment of the residents, wound care management, peg or parenteral feeding, catheter care, tracheostomy care, stoma care, CPAP ventilators, among others. Other duties include liaise with GPs and other healthcare professionals when needed, managing the care staff placed under my supervision during the shift, planning and implementing personalized care plans in accordance with the residents’ needs.

Medical case Manager (MCM). Travel Guard is an emergency travel assistance company providing services to insured travellers who suffer illness or injury during their travels or their stay abroad. My job entails coordination of travels care plans for leisure or corporate individuals and /or their families who are on long term assignment overseas. We monitor their medical conditions remotely, offering 24/7 nursing assistance and ensuring that they are provided with the highest standard of care in relation to their illness or needs. As a nurse, I liaise with treating doctors as well as our staff doctors to make sure that the medical needs of the clients are met. In all our job is client-centred and their well-being is of the outmost importance to us.

Assistant Nurse- I have not gotten an NMC registration pin as yet, therefore I was working as a Pre- register Nurse in other words Assistant Nurse and carrying out all Activities of Daily Living on the ward as well as some clinical duties such as patients' observations, record keeping, and feeding assistance, among others.

Staff RN: duties included observing and recording patients' conditions as well as writing care plans Consultation with ward physicians as per patients’ continuous care. Checking and administrating all types of medication. Recording patient's information, assessment and evaluation upon admission and discharge, care planning path, patient empowerment, guidance to next of kin, wound care. Administration of intravenous medication, intramuscular as well subcutaneous injections. Parenteral feeding, tracheostomy care patients as well as basic life support skills. Clinical duties eg: urine analysis, blood glucose measurement as well as physiological or neurological observations. Last but not least liaise with other health care professionals and ward consultant and carry on their instructions. Community Home care Nursing: Taking care of sick people at home in the evenings, nights and week-ends: providing assistance through telephone calls as well as direct care by home visiting. The unit liaises with doctors and other health care professional to provide maximum assistance for the clients living in their own homes.
