Job Description

Are you ready to lead change in addiction recovery?

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Substance Misuse Nurse to join a long-established therapeutic residential treatment centre in Wiltshire. This is a lead role—ideal for a nurse who is passionate about supporting individuals in recovery and wants to make a lasting difference in people’s lives.

As a key member of our clinical team, you will play a vital role in supporting clients through their recovery journey, providing high-quality, person-centred care, and contributing to a supportive and therapeutic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe and effective clinical care to individuals recovering from substance misuse.
  • Support and monitor detoxification processes, including administering prescribed medications.
  • Provide physical and mental health assessments upon admission and throughout treatment.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and adhere to professional and legal standards.
  • Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team including counsellors, recovery workers, and healthcare professionals.
  • Offer clinical leadership during shifts and contribute to a positive team culture.
  • Respond to medical emergencies and implement appropriate interventions as needed.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and contribute to service improvements.

Requirements

  • NMC Registration as a Registered General Nurse (RGN) or Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN).
  • Proven experience in substance misuse, addiction services, or mental health.
  • Excellent clinical, risk assessment, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to take initiative and support colleagues.
  • A commitment to compassionate, recovery-focused care.
