  2. Delivering Direct Patient Care:

    • Administer medications, fluids, and treatments as prescribed by doctors and in line with nursing protocols.

    • Provide direct care for a variety of conditions, such as infections, injuries, chronic illnesses, or postoperative recovery.

    • Assist with physical care tasks, such as feeding, bathing, dressing, and changing nappies for younger children.

    • Monitor vital signs, such as heart rate, temperature, and respiratory rate, and act accordingly based on findings.

  3. Clinical Procedures and Interventions:

    • Prepare children for medical procedures, offering comfort and reassurance before, during, and after treatments.

    • Assist with diagnostic tests and procedures, such as blood draws, X-rays, and other medical examinations.

  4. Family Education and Support:

    • Educate families about their child’s condition, treatment options, and home care instructions.

    • Offer emotional support to both the child and their family, helping them understand the child’s medical needs and providing guidance on managing care at home.

    • Provide advice on topics like nutrition, hygiene, and general well-being specific to the child’s age and condition.

  5. Monitoring and Documentation:

    • Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records, documenting assessments, treatments, and changes in the child’s condition.

    • Ensure compliance with confidentiality and data protection standards in patient record management.

    • Monitor patient progress and report any concerns to the medical team.

  6. Multidisciplinary Team Collaboration:

    • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team, including pediatricians, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, social workers, and psychologists, to provide holistic care to children.

    • Participate in team discussions regarding patient care and contribute to decision-making on treatment plans.

    • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for each child.

  7. Health & Safety and Infection Control:

    • Follow strict infection control and health & safety guidelines to ensure the wellbeing of both children and staff.

    • Promote a safe and comfortable environment for children, taking steps to prevent accidents and injuries.

    • Ensure the proper use of medical equipment and assist with the cleaning and sterilization of tools and instruments.

  8. Palliative and End-of-Life Care (if applicable):

    • Provide compassionate end-of-life care for children with terminal illnesses, focusing on comfort, pain management, and family support.

    • Coordinate with palliative care teams to offer holistic care and emotional support to both the child and their family during this challenging time.

  9. Professional Development and Continuing Education:
